Goodbye from Pod Chums: A Toast to the Experiment That Brought Us Together
Well, folks… this is it.
We're officially unplugging the Pod Chums mic and fading out on this little adventure we called a “community experiment.” What started as a slightly wild idea, building a space for indie podcasters to connect without the noise and chaos of traditional social media, turned into something far more meaningful than we expected.
Sure, we didn’t end up taking over the internet. We didn’t go viral. We didn’t even go medium-ral. But what we did do was connect. Really connect.
We met podcasters from every corner of the world, from basement broadcasters to backyard storytellers to closet content creators (literally… some of y’all had great acoustics in those linen closets). We shared ideas, traded episodes, swapped guests, and most importantly, we cheered each other on.
Pod Chums was never about algorithms or likes. It was about people. Passionate, creative, scrappy, hilarious, kind people who just wanted to make cool stuff and maybe find a few like-minded weirdos along the way.
And we found them. You. Each other.
So yes, the experiment is winding down. The site’s closing up shop. But that doesn’t mean the end of the friendships, the collaborations, the random “Hey want to guest on my show?” emails. That part? That part’s forever.
We’ll still be making podcasts, still be listeners and fans and supporters. You’ll still find us popping up in your feed or laughing with you on a crossover episode. Pod Chums isn’t a website anymore, but it is a vibe, and it lives on in all the connections we’ve made.
To everyone who joined, listened, shared, or simply lurked in the background: thank you. Thank you for being part of this low-key, no-pressure, high-fun experiment. Thank you for making it worth it.
And hey, if someday we decide to roll out a Season 2 of Pod Chums (now with more WiFi), you’ll be the first to know.
Until then, keep recording, keep connecting, and always keep it weird.
Stay chummy!
Your pal,
Jamie Fenderson
